So it has finally reached that point in the holidays when I run out of things to do and am sitting around at home quite a lot...  I decided to get into drawing on what will hopefully be a regular basis, since I'm kind of out of practice and all. I did this with black pen, something I'd normally only use for abstract things, it was a little different. I drew it from a photo on google ...somewhere... can't remember where :S
Anyway I had a job interview, which went fairly well I think, but who knows. Other than that not too much is happening at the moment. Sleeping in past midday is probably a sign I need to get a life.

Manly beach, blurred view of the city from the Gap, the Cross and Macquarie. What to do when you intend on driving into the city to see the carols only to find that there is not a single park within... well anywhere near the city at all. So instead I was taken on a guided tour of Sydney and the surrounding suburbs which was lovely in it's own way. This seems like so long ago given it was before christmas and new years and turning 18 and getting into uni... and so much happened all at once this summer, I'd say it would definitely have to be the most memorable so far.
I also applied for some jobs this week! At first dreading having to ever work again, but now that I've applied I am feeling rather keen. Though this feeling is amplified by my current lack of funds. So anyway fingers crossed I hear back some time soon :].

There are few things that I enjoy more than jumping on a ferry into Sydney to spend a day at the gallery de NSW. I must say today did not disappoint. We went on a guided tour of the art + soul exhibition and seeing artworks for real that I had only previously seen in library books made me smile especially. Good food and good company made the day complete and overall I think quite a success. Unfortunately my stay in Sydney is drawing to close very soon. But I guess I'll be back in a year :)

My puppy dog Chino wanted in on the action. Laying about in the sunshine. I couldn't feel further away from home right now what with the floods and all that's going on. I guess a rainbow would not be a bad reminder really, I am sure a lot of people have their fingers crossed right now.

I do enjoy the sunsets where I am staying. There is nothing quite like a sunset on the beach :)These are two of my cousins. They are adorable but don't tell them I said that, they already think they are far superior to me!
I do love the way they look out for each other though. Anyway that is what I imagined was happening here ... until I was told 'No Jessy, we were just making a choo-choo train! :D'
Silly me.

Some shots from my first few days after arrival in Sydney.
I can now say I've shopped just about everywhere I think you could shop in Sydney. I have caught almost every manner of public transport apart from the ever impractical monorail. I saw the fireworks in Darling Harbour before Christmas and fireworks on Manly beach mere metres from the window of our apartment.
I recently made some new friends, two international students from China who, like me, just completed grade 12. Which, incidentally, we receive IB scores back for in 3 days... I think it'd be weird if i wasn't anxious. Even though it doesn't really matter anymore. Ahh well ... and then I turn 18. My parents will actually be in the same state as me for my birthday this year. Quite an accomplishment for all parties involved :)
